Hi There, nice to meet you!

I’m Lieke, the proud founder of RIBBON, a brand born from my deep love for hockey and my quest to create a grip that truly works for every player. For as long as I can remember, hockey has been my passion, something I live and breathe every day. Whether as a player, coach, or trainer, I’ve spent countless hours on the field, constantly looking for ways to improve both my game and the game of others.

The idea for RIBBON came about when I faced the frustration of unreliable, uncomfortable hockey grips when I was playing as a 15-year-old. I knew there had to be a better way to enhance a player’s control and performance on the field. This frustration sparked my mission: to create a hockey grip that is durable, comfortable, and, most importantly, effective.

During my studies in Organizational Sciences at Tilburg University, the COVID-19 pandemic gave me the time and space to finally bring my idea to life. It was then, in 2021, that I turned my vision into a reality, and RIBBON was born. What began as a simple question:

“Why doesn’t the perfect hockey grip exist?”

Has evolved into a purpose-driven journey to support players at every level and make them feel confident on the field.

When I’m not working on RIBBON, you’ll often find me on the field, practicing my own skills or passing on my love for the sport through coaching. RIBBON is more than just a company to me, it’s a passion, and it’s about making a difference for players everywhere.
